I liked the swimming pool, the big bed in the room and the outside bathroom. The view was as well quite nice.
The hotel was too far from the center and didn't have free shuttle bus. The hotel was as well a bit expensive. The next time that I will go to Ubud, I would rather book in a cheaper hotel which is as well in the center.
The infinity pool, the breakfast.
The shuttle times to Ubud ended earlier.
the tranquility and the food which was fabulous though very expensive
The hotel was a long way out of Ubud so necessitated a taxi ride to get there.
Great location and very relaxing if unwinding and doing absolutly nothing is what you want. The surrounding area with it's rice fields and temples are well worth exploring on bikes provided by the hotel. Food was nouvell Bali style and the o ne and only restaurant was a liittle expensive compared to local prices. Excursions were avalable but booked through the hotel were at a premium. However our highlight was white water rafting 12 km alongthe Ayung River and seeing the wild life on the banks - even enjoyed by my timid femal companion!
The setting; infinity pool overlooking the lush forest vegetation in the hills and the sound of the Ayung River far below.
Despite booking a 'deluxe' room (one option down from a villa), the living room/bed area was too small. This was especially so, given that like most international travellers, we had x2 cases to store in the room.
My room was very special for the Valentine's day, an ideal honey moon venue. The food was exceptional, to my surprise...
The reception which confused about the cash payment at the check out, they should know their currency best and not rely on us foreigners and guests to point out that the amount was incorrect, I lost a bit trust in the local reception as a result.
Fantastic location, beautifull building, excellent staff and one of the most beautifull swimmingpools I ve ever seen
The distance from our room to the central area... Breakfast, dining and swimming pool...and Rooms were à bit damp
Stunning location, very peaceful & quiet for Bali/Ubud. Free transport to & from Ubud centre. Lovely spa for massage. Beautiful swimming pool. Very comfortable bed/room. Library with wonderful books & free internet.
Location is a little cool & rainy weatherwise.
wilderness,sarinity and calmness etc.
The room provided is too basic for the price charged. There was no chair inside the room that you could sit ana relax. We had to sit on the bed to rest.
Alila is a perfect choice for ones looking for quiet & serenity in a understated luxury. Ubud - the location - is a cultural & nature capital of bali, the service is impeccable, and the food is a gastronomical delight. The bed is one of the most comfortable bed I have slept on, supported by Ploh singapore. Very comfortable and ensure good night sleep and fresh morning.
Fantastic location, good breakfast & nice swimmingpool
Hotel is getting old. Safe driving not up to standard (driver not using seatbelt, extensive use of horn, talking on the phone, driver very sleepy...)
The serenity, views, food, staff...all excellent
The location is the main attraction of this hotel it is in a beautiful setting and relatively close to Ubud
I have 3 complaints 1. the restaurant service at breakfast cannot cope when the hotel is busy. We had to wait 20 mins+ for coffee. 2. Food hygiene is clearly an issue. My wife and I got food poisoning 3. Hotel staff on the front desk lack training particularly when it comes to checking out. It was very difficult to get a receipt for the advanced charges made to my Amex card and in fact I left the hotel without securing a final receipt Whilst the setting was 5 star the service was not
The staff, the breakfast, the villa and the pool area. It was also very tranquil, ambient and luxurious.
The only thing I felt difficult was trying to make contact with Alila when making various inquiries from Australia via email or phone call.
Stunning location, spectacular pool. Staff are very well trained and helpful. Rooms are a bit on the small side but the view of the valley makes up for this. Food is a little pricey but the included breakfast was delicious.
Food on the pricey side. Lots of ants in our bathroom. Expensive to get transport into restaurants in Ubud center.
